Great friendly and efficient service! They take great care of your furry family members.
The first few times we went here I really liked it. They were kind and you could tell most of the staff loved animals. However, the same doctors usually aren't available each time you need an appointment so I had to see Dr. Alfonso Gerbolini. If you choose to take your pet here, DO NOT CHOOSE HIM AS YOUR VET. My dog had a tumor removed and they sent him home with his ear stitched up like Frankenstein. There were no after care instructions, just not to wash it or let him roll in dirt. Anyway, of course the uncovered oozing wound became infected. When I took him back to Blair, Gerbolini said "Of course it's infected, you should have brought him in sooner". And I said, "I didn't know for sure it was infected and I don't have access to transportation all the time". and this imbecile continued to go back and forth about it like I had done something wrong. Then he proceeds to pull out a syringe , already prepped, that will supposedly get rid of the infection. It's over $100. I said hell no, you better suction that back in the vial because that's absurd. He wouldn't have gotten an infection if they'd actually had a plan for his healing. They give me some antibiotic cream instead. Eventually his ear heals. Then a bubble forms. Then it bursts and blood is everywhere. Back to the vet. This time, Gerbolini takes my dog from the exam room to 'show him to the other vet'. Then I hear a dog yelp. when he brings my dog back into the room, he has staples in his ear. I said, why did you do that?? You ask the owner for permission before you do anything to their pet. That's common sense. Not to mention, I would like to be near my dog to calm him down when a strange man is stapling his ear. Then he said "sorry. I cn take them out, no problem." The damage is done, if it helps, fine, but you should have asked me first. Long story short, I went back up there about 5-7 times for MONTHS. His ear didn't heal for MONTHS. After awhile, I switched to Petsburgh. Day 1, they gave him some antibiotics, his ear FINALLY healed. Mind you, the vet at Blair suggested I leave the tiny hole left in his ear open and just keep it clean for the rest of his life bc they couldn't figure out how to close it. Stitches and staples were not working. The pills from Petsburgh got rid of the infection and his wound closed all the way. Long story short, save your time and go to Petsburgh Pet Care.
This place is great! They love your pets almost as much as you do.
When I adopted my dog, she was so fearful, she wouldn't let anyone touch her. Now, just four months later, she sticks to me almost like a piece of Velcro, she's more and more willing all the time to make new human friends, and she's even started going to doggie play groups. This is thanks to the entire staff at the canine academy, the clinic and the kennel. They're so good with her, she makes the rounds to say hello to all her people friends whenever we go to any section of the practice. What truly wonderful people!
Love taking my dog there very polite and respectful
